Hired by the Karlsruhe Opera House during the last two seasons, Mika Kares had the opportunity to interpret many roles: Il Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Philip II (Don Carlo), Ein Eremit (Der Freischütz), Masetto (Don Giovanni) and Basilio (Il Barbiere di Siviglia). He sang the role of Leuthold (William Tell) at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam (concert version) and the title role in Mefistofele at the Seattle Opera.
